In Christ we grow

Overview

St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School is a vibrant forward thinking Catholic community situated in West Mackay.  Opened in 1935 by the Sisters of Mercy, the student population has grown from 23 to 525 as a 3 stream, co-educational facility. While nurturing our Catholic Faith, we teach respect for the beliefs of others. We have a strong commitment to social justice in allowing our students to experience their Faith in action.   Our dynamic staff embrace what it is to be teachers in the 21st Century and our units of work, resources and facilities support this. Our school has a strong commitment to guiding students in the most valuable and safe way to use technology as a learning tool, with all students from Prep to Year 3 having access to class sets of laptops and iPads and students from Years 4 to 6 participating in our one to one iPad program.  We promote a healthy, active lifestyle, offering many and varied sporting opportunities. Our students are immersed in the arts through Music, Drama and Dance experiences and we embrace our stewardship of the earth as a Reef Guardian school. In everything we do, we are guided by our mission statement to Learn, Love, Live the Gospel, Witness our Faith and Celebrate Life.

This school offers Outside School Hours Care (OSHC).
