Within the Diocese of Rockhampton, our rural and remote communities include Barcaldine, Blackall, Longreach, Clermont, Emerald, Monto and Springsure.

All our communities are within 1-2 hours’ drive of an airport that has multiple flights a day to metropolitan areas.

The Incentive Payment – Remote Area Staff Scheme (IPRASS) is payable to for the below locations based on years of placement:

 (Payments occur end of June and start of December in line with pay fortnights).

*Pro-rata portion applies if commencing after Term 1.

ITAS

Isolated Teacher Assistance Scheme payments are paid fortnightly in recognition of the locations and increased cost of living for the locations below:

Barcaldine, Blackall, Longreach, Clermont, Emerald, Monto and Springsure as well as Gladstone and Biloela.

Rental Rates

Catholic Education Housing is available for Single and Married Employees at Barcaldine, Blackall, Biloela, Clermont, Emerald, Longreach, Monto and Springsure.

Rental Subsidy

Self-sourced alternative accommodation can be arranged and attracts a rental subsidy option (eligibility criteria applies) at Barcaldine, Blackall, Biloela, Clermont, Emerald, Longreach, Monto and Springsure.

Teacher Relocation Reimbursement

Eligible Teacher will be funded up to a Maximum of $3000 for removal costs of furniture and effects.

*Barcardine, Blackall and Longreach relocation is fully funded.

Additional Leave Days

HELP Debt Eligibility

Our locations of Barcaldine, Blackall and Longreach are eligible for the HELP Debt Waiver/Reduction.

Priority Transfers

We recognise the commitment of remote service. Priority transfers are available when a full-time primary teacher (with a continuing position) completes at least 2 years’ service in a remote location to your preferred region.
