Applications for the Catholic Education Graduate Teacher Scholarships are now open and close 3 April 2023.

To apply for the Graduate Scholarship, please complete an application via our Careers Portal page.

This application needs to be submitted along with a cover letter addressed to the Diocesan Director outlining your intention to apply for a scholarship, your current academic transcript, completed practicum placement reports, response to the selection criteria and any other relevant information.

Each year Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton appoints a number of graduate scholarship teachers to Kindergartens, Primary and Secondary Schools commencing at the start of each school year.

We are currently seeking applications for full-time teaching positions for the 2023 school year.

We invite qualified educators who are committed to the ideals of Catholic schools and possess the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications/eligibility to graduate - including evidence of successfully passing the Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education Students
  • Appropriate qualities, knowledge and skills to provide a relevant and holistic education
  • A desire to serve the community of Central Queensland

Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton’s Graduate Teacher Scholarship Program offers an opportunity to secure an early offer of employment in schools identified as high priority within the Diocese of Rockhampton.

Scholarships of $4500 are available to high-achieving pre-service teachers who demonstrate professional knowledge, professional practice and professional engagement, support Catholic ethos and mission and are eligible for employment as a teacher in the semester following graduation.
