Recruitment & Onboarding Process

Begin by completing your application through our website. 
You will be required to upload: 

• A cover letter (addressed to Diocesan Director Michael McCusker) 
• Your current résumé/CV 
• Evidence of your QCT registration 

As part of your application, you must provide three referees who can speak to your recent work performance.  

Requirements: 

• Your current principal must be one of your referees. If you are not currently working in a school, your most recent leadership member from your previous school and your current supervisor is required. * 
• Referees play a central role in assessing suitability for relief teaching across our school communities, where collaboration, valuesbased practice, and professionalism are essential.

Note – Referees are sent off on receipt of application. Once referees are contacted, your application will progress to interview. 

This conversation helps us understand your experience, your alignment with our Catholic ethos, and your ability to support safe, inclusive and valuesdriven classrooms.

If all requirements are met and your appointment is approved by the Diocesan Director, a Relief Teaching Appointment Letter will be emailed to you. You will be able to review and accept this appointment electronically.

Before you can commence work, you must complete Student Protection Training.
This is a preemployment mandatory requirement and reflects our commitment to safe, nurturing learning environments for all students.

Once your appointment letter is accepted and SPT is completed: 

• You will be invited to join our online booking system used across all CEDR schools and colleges to manage relief teacher bookings. Information will be forwarded once documentation has been checked.  
• You cannot undertake any relief work until this step has occurred.   
• You are then invited to create an account to update your profile, availability and preferences, ensuring schools and colleges can contact you efficiently. 

Our Relief Teacher Booking System allows you to work across multiple CEDR communities.  

After final approval, you are ready to accept relief bookings.
