Teaching & Learning Framework
A Teaching and Learning Framework provides each Catholic school and college with a comprehensive plan to enact teaching and learning experiences.
This Framework includes three key components: the School Vision Statement and Mission Statement, the School Curriculum Guide and a Schoolwide Pedagogical Model.
Schools design their Teaching and Learning Framework by responding to the Diocesan Vision and Mission for Catholic Education with their individual school context and learners at the centre.
Members of the Curriculum Support Team at the Catholic Education Office, under the leadership of the Assistant Director: Teaching and Learning, support Catholic schools and colleges to develop Teaching and Learning Frameworks so that our learners are:
assisted to…
- understand that they are loved by God;
- know that they belong to a hope-filled community of faith;
- actively seek life-giving relationships
challenged to…
- strive for high standards;
- engage with the deep questions of life;
- make a positive difference in the world.
A consistent Pedagogical Model across schools in the Diocese promotes a shared understanding of how teachers teach so that our learners achieve optimal growth and learning success.
