Parents & Friends/Parent Body

The Parents & Friends (P & F) / Parent body plays a vital role in Catholic schools across the Diocese, providing an inclusive and welcoming forum through which parents and carers actively engage in the life of the school. It exists to strengthen the partnership between families and schools, recognising parents and families as the first educators of their children and valued contributors to school communities.

Through the P&F/parent body, families are supported and empowered to participate meaningfully in their children’s education and wellbeing. The parent body fosters open communication, shared learning, and collaboration between families and school staff, ensuring that parent voice is heard, respected, and embedded in school life.

P & F/parent body supports Catholic education by promoting its values and mission, nurturing a distinctive Christian community, and building relationships that enhance a sense of belonging for all families. They also provide pathways for families to connect beyond the local school, contributing to diocesan, state, and national conversations about education and family engagement.

While many groups enrich the life of a school, the P & F /parent body is the recognised body that represents the collective voice and interests of the entire parent community.

At a diocesan level, the CSPQ -Rockhampton Diocese Parent Body supports and connects local P and F /parent bodies across the Rockhampton Diocese. This parent body works to strengthen parent engagement, leadership, and advocacy across Catholic schools.
