Youth pilgrimage unites students

Youth pilgrimage unites students

Friday 14 May saw over 200 students from Years 10 to 12 across all our Diocesan Catholic Colleges gather to attend this year’s Catholic Education Youth Pilgrimage held at The Cathedral College, Rockhampton. The purpose of the Youth Pilgrimage was to provide these fine young people with the opportunity to take time in their busy lives to explore and reflect on the theme Here I Am.

For some of the students their attendance at the Youth Pilgrimage was in person whilst others joined in via the live stream. The Pilgrimage was blessed to have some outstanding presenters with the keynote addresses from renowned Melbourne-based singer-songwriter and Christian commentator, Gen Bryant and Diocesan Executive Officer Vocations, Youth and Family Life, Michael Otto.

Among the attendees at the Pilgrimage were Bishop Michael McCarthy and Diocesan Director of Catholic Education, Leesa Jeffcoat.

In expressing her thanks to Bishop Michael, the keynote presenters, the Pilgrims and all who had supported their attendance, Miss Jeffcoat said she hoped the event had been a life-giving, faith-filled and enjoyable experience for all concerned.

“I congratulate these wonderful young people from our Catholic Colleges for their attendance at the Youth Pilgrimage and I thank all those involved in the planning and co-ordination of this important event on the Catholic Education calendar especially Assistant Director: Mission for Catholic Education,  Di-Anne Rowan” Miss Jeffcoat said.
